Welcome to the Center for the Study of Conflict & Peace (CeCoP)

The Center, located at the Institute for Social Sciences, combines research, teaching and public activities regarding issues of conflict and peace, be it at international, intra-state or local level. CeCoP also hosts the international MA program „Conflict Studies and Peacebuilding”  which started in winter term 2021/22. CeCoP serves as University’s contribution to Osnabrück’s self-understanding as “City of Peace”, building on the legacy of the Westphalian Peace 1648.

The Center builds on the former ZeDF (Zentrum für Demokratie und Friedensforschung), 2012 - 2022.
